An update on the recent development on NLP. This book covers many up-to-date ideas on NLP. However this book provides very little detials on how to make use of those ideas/techniques to allow this book be regarded as a useful self-help resource.

I was exposed to some basic NLP techniques bacl in the 90s via Tony Robins seminars…I had a reawaking to its benifits recently when I complete Dr. Van Tharps Peak-Performance course in Top Trading….So I used his reference to get some of the works from NLP “founders”. Those books were “bizzar” – I could find no conreate practicallity….THEN I FOUND THIS BOOK….What a breadth of freash air! Practicale – easy to understand!!! Where it falls short some: The outline needs just a little work; Need more on how the various techniques fit together; Need a chapter on Modeling (the modeling was not given sufficent treatment at all)….Overall though, a good book for NLP basics.

If you are going to take the practitioner course then this is a nice way to get your head round it before you start the course. NLP can be jargon riddled at times so this book could familiarise you with some of it. I think the writer explains everything in a consise way. Not exactly bedtime reading but for the basic groundwork understanding of what NLP is all about then it’s not a bad start at all.

Joseph has written other books that are more prose, analogy and examples, but this is the book to buy if preparing for an NLP certification. This workbook has breadth and depth covering the entire NLP body of knowledge.
