This book is not a theoretical work as you could think reading its title. It’s more like a handbook where you find how-to of some tricky techniques ready-to-use.
Rating: 4 / 5
Engaging from the start – clearly expresses concepts and encourages further investigation of ideas. The book doesn’t assume knowledge and doesn’t patronise readers either. The ideas flow logically and build upon each other. The chapters are a good length, allowing bite size reading if desired. A slim volume which packs in a lot of information concisely and elegantly. I found it leaving me wanting to know more.

Like most magic tricks, once you learn the secret…it’s not as impressive. This book definitely peels back the magic curtain of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in a good way. The book presents a logical progression through the basics of NLP which is great as an introduction or as a comprehensive review for a more experienced practitioner.
The Magic of NLP Demystified is filled with content that is well organized. Bandler and Grinder, co-creators of NLP, presented much of their material through books that were transcripts of seminars. These books, including Frogs Into Princess and Trance-Formations: Neuro-Linguistic Programming and the Structure of Hypnosis, provide a good context for the use of NLP patterns while The Magic of NLP Demystified provides a clear map of the content of the basic elements of NLP.
Rating: 4 / 5
This is a book for those wishing a first introduction to the concepts and applications of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). It is not technical and also not for the advanced NLP student. Its target audience is for those across many professions who would like to learn more about effective communication with others. Informal and entertaining, valuable to managers, sales people, consultants, parents, educators, and even therapists as a first-time introduction. Published in 1992, it contains the important basics of the field, but does not have recent developments.

Sounds like real magic.
