THE MAGIC OF RAPPORT

 

This is probably the most thorough examination of rapport available.  Using an NLP perspective, Jerry Richardson covers many applications and approaches to building and maintaining rapport.

 

Although much of the content covers business approaches with rapport, the reader will gain a thorough understanding of how to create rapport in a variety of different settings.

 

Includes discussions of:

  • Simple pacing

  • Dealing with resistance

  • using acuity skills to observe non verbal communication

  • anchoring

  • and more


   

HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN 90 SECONDS OR LESS

 

The "non nlp" persons guide to rapport.

 

Well written and accessible, this book was written in three parts with the main focus being how to connect quickly and easily with others.

 

The contents are:

  1. First contact - People Power and First Impressions

  2. The 90 Second Land of Rapport - Likeability, attitude, pacing,

  3. The Secrets of Communication - listening, sensory modalities, sensory preferences

 


 

INTRODUCING NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING

 

Considered to be one of the best introductory books on the subject of NLP, this is a very thorough overview of many of the key principles, process and techniques of NLP.

 

Although only 272 pages, the nine chapters manage to cover most major NLP topics with some depth:

  • Origins of NLP

  • How we create our models of the world

  • Exploring internal states

  • Systems models

  • Language models - Meta and Milton

  • NLP change techniques

  • Reference section


 

INFLUENCING WITH INTEGRITY

 

Genie Laborde's very creative book on applications of NLP to management and negotiation.  Genie developed some very innovative processes and illustrations to illustrate some sophisticated and powerful NLP approaches.

  • Thinking and perception

  • Sensory acuity

  • The five finger pointers (an innovative approach to using the meta model)

  • Meeting procedures

SOLUTIONS: ENHANCING LOVE, SEX, AND RELATIONSHIPS

 

One of the several excellent and practical NLP books authored by Leslie Cameron-Bandler provides NLP approaches to relating to and loving others.

This book contains excellent, clear explanations of:

  • Rapport

  • Representational systems (visual, auditory, kinesthetic)

  • Eye accessing cues

  • Well formed outcomes

  • Anchoring

  • Reframing

  • Meta Model

What distinguishes this book is the jargon free explanations of many of the foundation models and techniques of NLP.  Very highly recommended.
